Could it be that the victory conditions are bugged. I have won with 930 VP to 450 VP and the game calls it a defeat.
I've had this issue with NCP as well you could conquer all of the startegic points in the uk and totally annihalate the GB and still get a stalemate.
Here the same, more VP and all startegic points but no win. stange numbers in the final ranking though?
Are there other hidden conditions?

please consider, the victory points are not all the input of the SCORE

i agree, there should be an automatic win, by seizing all objectives... :

End score comes from that:

Military
Each 50 points of combat power: 1 point

Civilization & Social:
Each city: level-2 points (yes villages cost you!)
Being a major nation: +100

Commerce
Each 20 points of commerce capacity: 1 point

Diplomacy & Victory
Each 15 VP: 1 point

You had a major victory: add 1000 points
You had a major defeat: lose 75% of your total

As you see, score is somehow 'simple' in its calculation. No doubt we could write pages of code just for it...[/color]

From that screen it looks like your NM is down to 24, therefore you have lost by the sudden death rule. :)

yes, but as Vesp. has over 167 CPR and only 86 NM and he has Rome under his control and all objectives, he did quite well.

how do you get major victories? generally the minor major defeat victory rules are unclear to me in all ageod games. In ncp I could completely destroy all oposition and I get a stalemate.
here sulla (the ancient version of a tank) kicks everyone but is only successful to a minor extent.

Then official manual contains another one misleading information ?

3. Winning the Game (Overview)
Victory in Alea Jacta Est is determined at the conclusion of each scenario bycomparing Victory Pointtotals. The
side with the most Victory Points (VP) is declared the winner. Relative differences between Victory Point totals can
be used as a measure of how well a player performedin comparison to his opponent. Scenarios can be brought to an
immediate conclusion if conditions for Automatic Victoryor Automatic Defeatare met. A scenario can also
immediately end if conditions for Sudden Deathare met.

Please, please in the next patch fix the manual. This game is very good but it's full of parameters and details that are not explained in manual or are explained with wrong information.

In 4 years scenario i was about 250VP over VEspasian, (1000 him, about 1250 me) but after the last turn i got a minor victory with about 650VP. Vespasianus was on top with about 659. Where are the 1000 and 1250 VP ?? what are those 650 and 659 vp ?

I think it was reported already, but when I played Albinus in the Severus-scenario, I won on turn 8 when taking Rome. No battle agains anyone except Didius. Ok, moral skyrocketet to 186, but still - this shouldn't be.

i cant say what work will be done by the development team and their aids de camp in which time horizon.

But i can tell you that we already started to make it more easy to update the manual, by opening a thread for that kind of changes during beta test phase.
I also add from time to time some content, if players like you and others make a good point that something is not clear/misleading. so there will be a updated manual one day.
