Suppose that I'm playing as Carthage. Under what circumstances should I prioritize recruitment of:
- Elephants vs Cavalry
- Iaculatores vs. Libyphoenices vs. Peditatus
- Iberian vs Sardinian vs Balearic mercenaries

Well, you should really just take a look at the visual depiction of the unit. The numbers to the right probably mean something, but there's a lot to be said for a cool looking unit with an awesome helmet. That's how I play, anyway.
