Helping me through a senior moment

I'm in the throws of migrating from a somewhat antediluvian Windows XP machine to a more modern computer that runs on Windows 7 Professional.

Instead of moving all of my files en masse I'm moving them over one group at a time to avoid having anything on my new computer that I am unfamiliar with. I've just gotten around to moving AJE and BOR over, and to my surprise and delight I still had the setup files, along with my music mod and some partially completed map mods that correct spelling errors on the game map (wish I had done more of them).

As I was checking to make sure all was in order, I came across something in my AJE/BOR work folder called SocWin and a note to myself to install the file in my AJE and BOR folders after patching to 1.03.

Can anyone (like Pocus) tell me why I have that zip file and that note in my work folder? What does SocWin do, and more to the point, is it still necessary to use it?

Many thanks in advance.

Just a guess: is it a save from a game in which the Socii faction won? A save you wanted to keep for some reason?

Ditto, agree with Hrothgar.

SocWin is not any kind of standard folder in the game, whether AJE or BOR, so the game can easily run without it. I tend to agree with Hrothgar and Durk (although I don't recall any scenario with the playable Soc)
