Franciscus, is there a hidden meaning to your signature phrase?

Franciscus, I have noticed recently that the words "Hannibal ad Portus", appears below all of your recent comments.
Does "Hannibal is at the gates", mean that we will see a second Punic war expansion in the near future?
I would be delighted, as would many.

Yes indeed, we are working hard on a expansion containing the second Punic War

An expansion would be good. If it is for three players I would be interested.

Why only 3 ?

Why not only three, perhaps more ?

Sorry I am being misunderstood. My fault.
Is this planned extension only going to be for two (2) players?

The expansion will have a lot of 2 players scenarios, of course.
But it may also contain something for more players

(not certain, though, we shall see...)
(The AGE engine is not limited to 3 playable factions, you know ? :cool

This is the expansion I've been waiting for. But I hope you haven't forgotten the AI. Not everybody plays against humans.

In pbem the host (one who starts the game) can look at files in, say, Dropbox.
Smiley meant, as far as I understood, a joke or satisfaction etc.

How powerful is Hannibal going to be? He's going to need some really good stats and abilities to beat the Romans like he did historically!
Have you find a way to not make everybody avoid fighting Hannibal at first? In real life, the Romans didn't know him when he arrived in Italy, and following their usual method, ruthlessly attacked his army, with disastrous consequences. Only later did they began to avoid fighting him in the open, having learned the hard way just how dangerous he was as a commander. But in the early phase of the war, they had no more respect toward him than any other foreign foe they had fought and conquered.

PJJ , you make a very good point. I have noticed that the AI is reluctant to fight a great general, especially if he has a good army. Maybe a decision or event could cause the Romans to attack Hannibal with at least a consular army, or give Hannibal the ability to force combat a few times. Historically, they attacked twice, and lost both armies. They avoided him for awhile, then attacked again at Cannae, where they lost a much bigger army. After that, they generally tried to avoid him.

Maybe just an incentive to fight him? For example, for every turn that Hannibal is in Northern Italy, there is an (X * cities taken by Hannibal) chance for a Roman Allied city in Northern Italy to switch sides.
So, the longer the Romans hold their cities there, the less cities will switch sides.
But I am just a mere player, I am sure the scenario designers will have thought about it and make a great scenario.
(Though I am not going to lie, the First Punic War is in my opinion a disappointment in Birth of Rome. Luckily that is offset by all the other fun scenarios in the expansion.)

I really hope the more than 3 player scenario gets in this time. I know it's been teased for awhile now but hasn't shown up. I'm not quite sure what the more than three scenario is. I've guessed Fall of the Empire (Goths, Byzantine, Rome, Vandal, Hun?) or Crisis of the Third Century (Aurelian, Gallic, Palmyra, Barbarian?). I guess it could be the 2nd Punic War. Baraca (Spain+Hannibal), Carthage (North Africa), Macedonia, Rome, Greek League? Or 2nd Triumverate? Lepidus, Anthony, Octavian, Sextus Pompey (I really just want to get to play as him). I'm really curious.
