Nobody used spies. How honourable of you all :)

I think they're just as any other unit, but with a high scout / hide value.

One of the other Ageod games has a spy (WIA?), there is is a single man counter (like a leader), but with high scout value and a high hide value. I used it, but never had the idea that it contributed a lot.

I'm thinking of using a few in the Aurelian scenario I'm making. They could come into their own if there are distant lands (like Persia) where you have little knowledge of the forces that you might find yourself up against should you invade. Realistically you would have some idea about the forces in an area before you invade it, so spies could give you this info. In a game like WiA they had limited value as you already had units in close proximity and a fairly good idea about the opposition strength. I'll see how it works out.

Cheers,
Chris

Spies are useless for Mithridates because in the important areas he has line of sight anyway. If Mithridates loses Greece, what use is a spy there anymore? And in Asia minor (and also parts of Greece IIRC) the loyalty allows for spotting everywhere anyway.
