AI settings - effect on game

After completing my first game on the Marius versus Sulla campaign, Minor Victory as the Populares, I adjusted the AI settings upwards (AI detect to recommended level, AI Ranking to Centurion (I think) and activated "Give AI more time"). I noticed two things:
a) Sieges - assaults are far less common, you have to starve them out; and
b) Evasiveness - increased AI evasiveness (more difficult to come to grips with small Lusitanian raiding forces).
Has anyone else noticed changes, similar or otherwise?
