AI settings - effect on game

After completing my first game on the Marius versus Sulla campaign, Minor Victory as the Populares, I adjusted the AI settings upwards (AI detect to recommended level, AI Ranking to Centurion (I think) and activated "Give AI more time"). I noticed two things:

a) Sieges - assaults are far less common, you have to starve them out; and
b) Evasiveness - increased AI evasiveness (more difficult to come to grips with small Lusitanian raiding forces).

Has anyone else noticed changes, similar or otherwise?

Yes, the AI definitely makes better decisions with these settings. In a First Punic War Campaign, the AI did not make some of the foolish mistakes they did on lower settings. And I noticed the same thing about sieges. You had to starve them out, and it could take a very long time. At the easier settings, the garrison would often launch ill advised attacks, that would result in a strong fortress like Lilybaeum losing its siege engines. This might repair a breach, but then it was much easier to besiege the badly weakened garrison.

Biggest thing I've noticed on these settings is that the AI really loves to run circles through my lands when weaker. Meaning that I need to keep sizeable forces in every theater for garrison duty and have to actually try and hunt down enemy stacks. Plus enemy stacks split up and join a lot more often. Not to mention that it has grown fond of using naval invasions*. All in all a lot more challenging.

*these may or may not be scripted. Dunno.
