Great Mithridatic War - strangeness? Fixed in post #7 of this thread!

by Professor Chaos
Hi Forum -
I decided to try playing as Pontus in the Great Mithridatic War scenario. I declared war immediately, and in the report from the first turn:
- "The fleet Oriens exercitus was landlocked and has been destroyed"
- "The fleet Armenia exercitus has been moved to Mare Syriacum"
The latter results in the army of Tigranes II Magnus showing up in the ocean. A 340 weight unit crammed into a 100 capacity transport. The army is also activated, so you can use it right away.
Admin: QwikFix for this scenario is included in post #7!
Enjoy

Looks to me like something went wrong in patching the game

I had exactly the same thing happen to me in a three way pbem (myself not hosting).

By the way welcome to the forums (or indeed fora!), professor chaos.
The first time I got the fault I was as mentioned a non- hoster in a three way pbem and I have just retried in a new solo game with the same result.
I will ask my two comrades to retry it using their solo set ups and see what happens.
Initially I thought that Tigranes's army would be squeezed down but this didn't occur.

Be sure you are using patch 1.02 and if necessary, make a full uninstall and reinstall, patching then to 1.02 (for extra safeness, download it again from the forum, and apply it - no need to apply 1.01)
If this is reproducible, please provide a save and backup of the turn when this strange behaviour occurs.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Regards

Yes, thank you very much.
In fact there is a bug in the initial forces setup of Pontus in this scenario, that creates ships inside of two army stacks, and that's the reason of the strange messages and behaviors.
This was now fixed, will be in a next patch
In the meantime, attached you can find a fix. Simply unzip this file in the Scens subfolder of your AJE folder. One file should be overwritten.
Sorry for the inconvenience
EDIT: This fix will only work in new games, not ongoing ones
