Amazing stuff! Could turns be faster though?

First off, huge kudos to the team - the game is simply amazing; I have not been engrossed so deeply since the Napoleon's Campaigns era.

I do have a thought and a question about the AGE engine though. Since it is a "we all go together" kind of turn-based game engine, wouldn't it be possible (in a future game) for the computer to make its decisions while the player is making theirs? It takes me about 5-10 minutes in small scenarios to issue orders per turn (my "thinking" time) and it takes the AI about as much to make its decisions.

I am sure I am not original in thinking this - I am just curious whether something like that would be possible to have for future games.

Looking forward to a Rome vs Carthage add on(!)

Really weird, as AJE turn processing is between 30sec and 1 mn only, for the vast majority of people. Can you please post your mainlog file here (or by PM if you prefer)?

maybe a problem with your antivir software? had a similar problem some time ago when my firewall scanned every file that got created during the thinking of the AI. after lowering the scan-options it became significantly faster. or maybe very old hardware? ;)

AV scanning can be indeed the culprit, or the UAC from Windows. There must be something slowing down the writing of files indeed.

Never mind, it runs fine on my desktop. I had it running on a "borrowed" laptop (definitely not my work laptop though - in case the boss is reading this) and it may have been the antivirus or whatever. It was more like 3-5 minutes than 10 though (I was exaggerating in the original post).

Thanks all for the input!
