How important is your capital in AJE?

Rome was a key city, but for other powers the capital might be only a convenient center without focal importance. Even in Pride of Nations, the Loss of Capital punishment is severe and you want to defend it very strongly. What about AJE?

depends on the scenario,
50 points of national moral LOSS for instance, while 25 NM bonus if you take it
as NM effects cohesion and means an equivalent of 50.000 killed Romans
or hundreds of Dinarii, several times over month are needed to restore NM by government option (F4)
you can imagine the impact for the next year: hard to recover, not impossible
also some events work with loyalty impact either, less supply, less money if i am right

PS:
remember that in AIE the suddendeath is working, you simply dont want to have such a NM drop with the most faction

Good to know - I was wondering if I was worried too much about a dinky capital town.

NO. Your capital is your life. Don't lose it.
