After clicking "end turn" game auto-returned to PON main menu.
Resume game not possible
Reloaded from saved games now with error log on.
Somehow the error log sounds ... familiar to me from older ADEOD games.
Main Log attached

Win7 right? Happens to me to.
Quick fix--go to your PON\Saves directory. Inside are a bunch of folders and some files in the root directory.
Backup1 means it is one turn before the last turn (e.g., Backup15 is 15 turns ago).
Go into Backup1, copy everything there. THen paste it over the files in the root directory. Game should work then, one turn before the crash.
Win7 does odd things with files and PON. To include occasionally not writing all the files...

Star rant:
(I am happy I kept windows XP in my desktop.
Unfortunately in my new laptop I had to go with Win 7
But let me tell you, each and every day that passes I feel sad that the games I love are not developed to MAC. I own an iPad and an iPhone, my daughter has a MacBook, and let me tell you, the experience is miles ahead of Windoze...
If not for gaming, there is absolutely no reason to prefer Win over Mac, nowadays, IMHO )
End rant

I cannot think of one single reason to use XP over Win7 though.

Continuing a bit OT, I have a desktop running win XP and a laptop with Win 7 64. I use them daily. I tell you sincerely, I have not found yet a single valid reason to prefer Win7 over XP
