Greetings comrades! I'm new to RUS and was wondering what the community feels is the most 'fun' of the three sides to play?

It really depends on many things:
_ what you know about the RCW
_ your political views
_ for a PBM or a solo game
_ you prefer big armies or elites
For a solo game I think I would prefer the Kolchak Whites (I think they have the fewer units), but for a solo game I'll prefer the Reds (to play the makhnovists)

All 3 are very different. I'd recommend the Southern Whites to start with. They start the smallest and it won't be so overwhelming dealing with the big map and tons of units.

If by 'fun' you mean the greatest challenge where you have so many difficulties you must always keeps many balls in the air at the same time, then the Reds.
However, if you mean learn the game with a reasonable chance to do well, the Siberians. Southern Whites, like Cleburne says, are easiest to manage. Siberians have more potential for growth with a nice hinterland from which new units can be developed; and a single front.

Is Stalin in the game? I played it about a year ago and I don't remember seeing Stalin.

Yes, there is, he is stationed in Tsaritzyn.

Yes, Stalin spawns in Tsartzyn/Stalingrad in round 2 or 3 in the Grand Campaign.
I like playing the historical losers, either the Siberians or the Southern Whites. The Siberians have this annoying tendency to have mostly region-restricted units, and rather little manpower though, so the Southern Whites allow for more flexibility, especially as they control the Ukrainian expedition and the Northern Whites too.
