You're welcome, but we still have to get going on NCP (which game I know absolutely the least, but another good modder is working on it ;) )

What is "battle scale", and those leader bios?

Also have you noticed that units in enemy territory sometimes change their battlestances automatically from defence to attack? Is this intended?

Welcome to the forum! :w00t:

A group will change to attack in a region with low friendly Military Control.
See section 16.1.3 on page 61 of the manual

battle scale in the moving radial bar seen with battle animtion

leader bios are seen if you "hover" the mouse over the portrait in the element detail pop-up window

Thank you.

So this means i cannot avoid fighting when moving trough enemy territory? Will i always have to attack if i try to maneuver to the enemy subregion first, or will i have to use the passive stance?

If you are in defensive mode, you will switch to defensive mode.

If you are in passive mode, you will remain in passive mode but two things can happen :

- The enemy "blocks" you with its zone of control, if your army is large, and you won't be able to pass through
- The enemy does not, and you will pass through
- The enemy is in offensive mode, and he may engage even though you don't want to.

There is always the possibility that, because of a combat delay (which is modifiable with an option) you don't fight an enemy in a region before the turn ends.

Plus for small nimble troops, it is possible to use the 'evade fight' special order to not be engaged in combat.

Can I post feedback here? Well anyway here it goes.

What I've noticed after playing 1.02, in 1.03 you can nearly completely disregard winter. In 1.02 you couldn't even move small units because winter destroyed them. I thought this was stupid, because a few thousand men could easily find lodgings from the blizzards and such.

In 1.03 nothing get's destroyed by the winter, certainly it hampers movement but it does nothing else. Massive armies can do what they want. They can siege, move, all without attrition. Is this intended, or should I play with the historical attrition?

Think about 1812...

Thanks.

I am waiting for 1.03 to start a new game as you say " we are very close to "official"" in first post, but it is nearly one month now, so should i start with beta patch? Also will beta patch work with Steam?

We've got a bug or two in beta to fix, time undetermined.

You can go ahead with beta patch, as I don't anticipate anything that would later be incompatible.

.... but with Steam, you'll need to copy the entire game to a non-steam location so steam doesn't revert you to 1.02....
