Confused about supply in sieged cities

I have a question about supply. I use 1.03a and play as Prussia against Athena.

I have caught the Austrian Army of Bohemia in Prague and am now sieging said Army in the city. For a whole year. Shouldn't a sieged army start to starve at some point? Or a I missing something? Is the supply production in a sieged city large enough to sustain a pwr ~4500 army?

It shouldn't take that long. Do you have bateaux blocking the port? Do they repair the breach if you have insufficient force?

The siege rules are being overhauled, and wil be significantly differnt in next update.

There were some inconsistencies in older versions....

AFAIK, bateaux will not blockade a port, so there is quite a lot of supply going into the bbesieged city via the port....

Thank you for your replies!

1. I did not blockade the port - I never had enough bateaux to try. However, I did make sure that I controlled both banks of the Elbe as far as it is navigable - thus, there really should not have been the possibility of supply getting there by boat...

2. Re new patch - is there a tentative ETA? I might be starting a new PBEM in a couple of weeks...
