Wounded Generals

How can I understand wheter an enemy general is wounded or dead (I am not sure they actually die) ?

You can't. At least not in the message log. As there is FOW.
In ROP leaders don't die(or very rare) but get wounded. But it would be good to see brigade and corps commanders have higher death rate.

If you see a cross next to their name in the battle report, they died. This works for everyone but the main general. Since he doesn't show up on the leader ledger, there is no cross. Wounds don't show up at all, but usually happen when you wipe out a stack but don't kill the leaders.
