Question about brigades.

Does brigade composition matter?

Athena obviously doesn't think so as she throws whatever is available into a brigade.

Are there advantages to brigades purely composed of infantry or purely of cavalry? Or is there a receipe like in ACW where a mixture of infantry, cavalry (1 element) and artillery (4-5 elements) was most powerful.

What about artillery? It seems a waste of space and command points to add artillery to an infantry brigade.

this was discussed in detail here:

I have not noticed it makes a huge difference. I tend to group similar units, i.e. 4 x infantry; 4 x cavalry; 4 x militia in brigades, if only to make it easier to manage your forces.

re:artillery, since batteries have no command points, I don't see an advantage with including them in a brigade.

Thank you. I had overlooked the old thread.
