Screens look great. Thanks for sharing! I particularly like the fact the UI doesn't seem to be as intrusive as WIA. By the way, anyone know if the UI in WIA can be minimized or reduced?

I guess that the UI is about the same size as it is in WIA. The screens are just taken from someone who plays at a quite large display resolution. Since the size of the UI is the same no matter which display resolution you use, it appears smaller on larger displays.

You are right  ... but considering the last polls in this forum about "users screen resolution" I wouldn't consider this a "quite large display resolution"... it is becoming a standard resolution nowadays... ;)

Well, it is true I have a very large screen: my resolution is currently 1850 x 1050...but as said too, I am less and less a minority ;)

So the weather display only looks smaller due to the resolution?

It also appears the box with engagement points, national morale and foreign intervention indication runs across the top of the screen as opposed to in a box on the upper left side in WIA.

Yes, you are right, some parts of the interface are somewhat smaller or more streamlined, participially if you compare them with AACW which has that resources blackboard on top.
But having big resolution display helps a lot, no doubt
On my 1280x1024 display i find the AGEOD games interface size just right. But i guess on smaller screens one woudl like to see more map.
Hopefully AGEOD games take advantage of any screen inch one has, even on panoramic screens :coeurs: :coeurs: something many strategy games (even recent ones) completely fail to do :bonk:
Cheers!

I appreciate the insight. Yes, you are correct, it's a bit frustrating because I would rather see more of the map than UI. Perhaps functionality can built where one can hide the UI? This would be great for taking screenshots for AAR, and immersion.

It would be great that the interface would be hidden like the task bar in windows, and when you pass the mouse over it it appears :) . Optional, like in windows of course...

For that purpose, use any graphical editing program, like Micro$oft Paint.
You can easilly cut the interface if you do not like and focus on the important stuff.
Obviously, you can do the same with more advanced programs, like Fireworks or Photoshop, but with Paint is enough really. ;)

Well, it surelly sounds awesome... but I preffer to have Pocus precious time invested in new features for the engine rather than on small interfaces improvements. ;) :D
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea too, but if you add that as a task on the TODO-list of Pocus right now, it will be done around 2012... with luck! :D

I'm already doing quite some interface stuff for ROP (new interface stuff, hint, hint, what can it be?? ;) ).

Happy Christmas

Continuing from there:

I'm afraid every Czech native who will buy this game realize that he cant recognize their own country and the problem is only in the rivers (in my opinion, but i didnt see the whole map). If map is still modable, there is a good way to fix it without relocating the places:

Puting the rivers in these form (more or less) will allow to let almost all places where they are now.
(I also observed that you probably took a row of provinces from Saxony to compensate the orientation problem. But there is pretty accurate shape of czech historical borders in this map.)
