Can't delete units in production

Need some help here. I have 3 river boats being produced in 3 separate cities, all 3 of which are stuck. They are being produced at the rate of 0.01 per day and this is with no restrictions in place or lack of materials. I can make other ships, both river craft and ocean going without out problem. I tried click on each unit and hitting the delete key, which works with other units or buildings, just not these 3 ships. Is there anyway to kill off the production of these 3 ships?
