War Score

I got bored with my complete inability to manage contentment and decided to declare war on Piedmont to reclaim Savoy and Nice for France.

I overran the entire country, save Sardinia, capturing most of their forces when they decided to hole up in fortresses. The entire campaign took only a few weeks.

However, I don't have nearly enough war score to claim Savoy and Nice. Piedmont will occasionally offer one.

Will I ever have enough (you need 218 and I only have 105 war score right now, after almost a year of continuously occupying them)?

This reminds me very much of a Paradox game, where war score and obstinate AI are put in place to increase difficulty.

Takes a long time, if you hold the capital the warscore does increase. As you've found, its more likely that the AI will offer one of those provinces in a peace deal even if the warscore is too low in an attempt to end the war. Even so to get both will take time.

Of course you'd have got both provinces for agreeing to back S-P in 1859.

I saw that I would get them through an event, but when the Crimean events didn't fire, and my disgust over contentment lead to me consider abandoning the game, I thought I'd try a war.

My war score seems to have topped out at 109. It hasn't increased in a few turns. They did up their offer to a province (it's random which one) and $10 in reparations.

Is the S-P capital under occupation and the war score is not rising? This sounds like a bug.
