Is ousting of foreign military outpost possible without declaring war

I am back in my Russia game now and back again enjoying PON - I was missing it :)

Today I have a question re Afghanistan: I out-competed Britain there and was able to declare a Russian Colony. Unfortunately the Brits were able to establish Military Outposts in the very south of Afghanistan in regions "Farrah" and "Kandahar". Therefore I am not able to establish Mil. Outposts there and also these regions now are out of my country border.

Will this now remain the status quo until another war with GB or are there peaceful means to shut down their outposts and establish own?

thx in advance !!

these outpost remain here until :
a) they are destroyed - eigter by you or rebels
b) province is upgraded to national/non-national.

and since they are only outpst it is no big deal.

I was just reading the manual today/yesterday (ive been trying to learn the game, a bit of a daunting task) but i remember seeing this mentioned in there. So i figured id share what i recently read.

I just looked it up again and it is on page 56 of my version of the manual.
According to that page, at protectorate level any military buildings of other nations will begin to degrade over time and eventually disappear. At colony level any colonial buildings of other nations will also begin to degrade over time and eventually disappear.
It may have changed since then, but that's what the manual says at least.

I think its more sudden than the manual implies.

If you look in the files for each building type, they tend to have minimum requirements around colonial penetration/military control and so on. For some buildings this is low enough that structures of different powers can co-exist, but if you keep on pushing up your CP then sooner or later you can squeeze them below the threshold.

For the OP, I'd work on increasing your CP in those border regions, that should remove Perfidious Albion. If not, well adding India to the Tsar's domains sounds like a fun thing to do :)

Remember you can have high CP in a given province even if you lack the conditions to actually make a colony of the wider area.

Great - thank you all so much for the answers !

@Loki: I just won wars against Bokhara and Kokand and built up my imperial army - maybe I will follow your idea hunting down the redcoats in their vested India :)

Sorry to come back to my OP: It actually seems that UK does not have Military Outposts in these cities anymore: They have disappeared likely according the rules you stated Loki, but they OWN the CITIES as "British India" - in Kandahar the city + a depot. With 50% and 53% my CP already is quite and I already built all kinds of buildings.

I assume, that the rules you stated also apply to this situation and I maybe need to raise the CP more in order to become rightful Tsarist cities ?

Any further comments highly welcome :)

How big chance for degradation of that scructure is ? i have colony/domonion for over year and still have outpost/anchorages+/others (and rarely city, lol) still in "enemy" hands.
