Pocus has fixed 1.04 RC2!

If you have not noticed the quick fix Pocus posted in the "improve PON" section of this forum, there is one, and it appears to have fixed the main problems with RC2.
The lag problems with the B and F4 screens are gone, and Pocus wrote that he fixed the immortal garrison bug as well. I am at peace and have not had a chance to test out the garrison bug, but I believe Pocus has fixed it.
Pocus is planning to do more once To End All Wars is done, but what he has already done is a great improvement
Now I am enjoying the game again, and it is grand!
Thank you, Pocus!

Question for vaalen or any PON players. A group of PON novices is about to embark upon a new game. How does this group of player insure they are in the latest patch and quick fixes? Most of us have tried to keep our games current, but we have at least one player who has purchased PON this week. Thank you for your help.

The latest patch is 1.04, RC2. You can find it in the "patches" section of this forum. It needs the quickfix patch that Pocus recently released, which is in the "Improve PON" section of this forum. Those are the patches that I am using, and I believe they are the latest. Hope this helps.

Just beware that I think Pocus has mentioned he hasn't fixed the imortal garrison bug yet, so I'd say that the version 1.03e full that comes along with the Scramble for Africa DLC is the last stable version of the game, the fix Pocus did is still in test phase, but he said he's going to fix it completelly in the short term.
Cheers.

Interesting, for sure. I guess we will test the fix. Unless you see serious issues.

If the imortal garrison bug wasn't fixed, then I see a SERIOUS ISSUE, it's basically impossible to wage war with this bug.

And by the way that's why I haven't updated my game yet (also because my AAR us precious

and I need to end it), the 1.03e full is perfectly stable and I (and other heroes like Loki, Kensai among others :mdr

could help you with any difficult/problem/issue you may find in your way.
Cheers.

I did not explicitly check for the immortal garrison bug in this quickfix, because for me it is fixed since some AJE reports where I fixed extra issues about it. As this quickfix uses latest code base, it should be fixed too in PON by now. If it is not, that would mean that AJE and CW2 to a lesser extent would be suffering from it, and I see no report on that currently.

Where I can find the 1.03E patch?

Oh I see Pocus, I was just afraid, as you didn't mentioned you have fixed this bug, that it wasn't fixed, then if it's fixed I shall update my game here to the 1.04, I'm sorry if I misinterpreted you. That's great news indeed, soon I shall resume my AAR with the new patch then. Thank you Pocus.
Cheers,
Daniel.

I started a game a Prussia, in the Franco Prussian war scenario, to test this out. On turn one I swept into Strassburg, and took the fully garrisoned fortress by assault. No problem, everything worked as it should. I then drove the French out of Metz, and besieged the fortress. Earch turn I inflicted breaches. On the third turn, I ordered an assault on the fortress, and took it with no problem, killing everyone in the garrison. From this test, it appears that Pocus did indeed fix the immortal garrison bug.

Great to know that it's fixed! Thank you Pocus.
So for the 1850 scenario I'd only hoped the unification process of Italy and Germany could be fixed for the AI as well, it was the main reason I quit playing my first campaign long time ago and only came back playing PoN with the 1880 scenario where these issues are solved (and we're closer to ww1 age!

), then I'd think it's also a major issue (at least it was and is still for me).

HerrDan, I would also really like to see those event chains fixed, especially for the AI. I would also like a fix that would allow Germany to annex Metz in a peace treaty, after the Franco Prussian War.

Italy is
fixed, up to the 1865 alternative unification route (& will be quite aggressive to Austria over Lombardy and the Veneto if they are not part of Italy), here. And
this sorts out a number of issues in the Balkans/WW1 chain. Once I can find some time (ie after September 19 I fear), I'll do similar around the German chain (I think the problem there is the Schleswig-Holstein phase) and a number of colonisation events that need better checks for a historical activity.

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else already, but is 1.04 RC2 with the QF save-game compatible?
Thanks!

But do they become Italy or just a larger version of S-P? That's the main issue for me.
