Now I'm curious to know who's playing Belgium

Playing with France, seeking to restore some semblance of the glory of the First Empire before the Congress of Vienna...re-capture Belgian and Italian territories (maybe Dutch, as well), while still seeking to establish a more historical colonial empire. This means that I play with historical SOIs, but unhistoric claims from wars. For me, my game feels like a mixture of unhistorical goals for France in the mid to late 19th century (seeking post-revolution, but pre-1806 dominance of France in western Europe), but seeking to establish these goals along lines that are tied to historical realities...scripting alliances and wars and even domestic politics along lines that would make historical sense, if certain unhistoric events played out. The role-playing immersion for me has mainly come from pretending that Napoleon III is seeking to slowly, but steadily, restore the glory of his greater uncle, while surpassing his uncle in creating an international colonial empire, as well. It's been a lot of fun, and it's been a great learning experience for me on learning how to script. I can now include my own so-called "newspaper articles" along with historical pictures from the internet to create a more immersive feel to accommodate the changes going along with events.
This game has so much potential!

Does that mean another AAR is coming?

I think you should write one

Game is amazing, I'm just having some problems since I started using a tv as monitor in my pc, and it gives me some eye strain when I use it for some time, I don't know if I'll ever get used to it, but I've read somewhere that tv-monitors aren't ideal for those who use the pc for long period of times as they cause more eye-strain than normal pc monitors and so that made me regret having bought this tv-monitor, what's your opinion when it comes to monitors and tv-monitors? Do you think that we get used after some time? Or that I should buy a specific pc monitor and forget this tv-monitor?

Sorry for the slow response time, HerrDan. I think you're right about the TV screen vs. monitor. The monitor is designed to be better on the eyes close up, while TVs are designed to be watched at a longer distance.
There's a huge part of me that would love to write an AAR, but I already struggle with taking up too much time playing games like these, and I'm afraid that an AAR would suck me into the black hole with no hope of return...

But thank you for the encouragement. I've greatly enjoyed reading yours, and I've learned a lot through it. Thanks!

I have posted another Poll with Japan properly there, as I don't know if it's possible to edit the poll to add Japan, I was distracted and forgot to add in the first time. Good to see you around

so, lots of people are playing austria (some in the kensai variant ?) hope they like it too
I've two games, my old one with Russia, almost over - just keeping the end holding, and current german - both were very involving at times (wars of course) - kept some saves, will try to have the Austro prussian war I dispensed myself of - got NGF peacefully, and seemed easier to keep my alliance with Austria than to try smash Austria and restore friendship and alliance then ...
never fought Japan as Russian - they never landed on continent - smashed China in a neverending war, in the end I gave up, no way getting manchuria or coal rich areas (coal is the oil strategic resopurce of the times, more precuiious for my economies than gold)
smashed Austria to ashes too (a badly timed local offensive is lethal for army corps still) , no way having them let the hook off Serbia - and planes seem pretty useless and highly vulnerable (and costful) to me ... some fixing in order, but is a very secondary point

My current game is with Spain with a mod and I had a good time with it, but not being a playable nation is a problem when you advance (no new objetives, events not working...).
I'm enjoying the colonization game and I already have good portions of Central America, Africa and Arabia, but again, not being a playable nations makes that no matter which research I achieve, no new units or colonial decision appears (I'm in 1862 and even with all required techs I'm still not able to build medic or signal units). For more about my Spanish game I made an AAR that is in this forun section "Cuartel General" (in Spanish, of course).
I would like to reach the Spanish-American war but i doubt I'm going to make it because all the problems you accumulate with a non playable nation.
I remember when AGEOD made Belgium and the Ottomans playable they said Spain would be the next, but then came the divorce with Paradox and there were no more news about this.
HerrDan, by the way, great AAR. I'm at page 11 and I'm hooked.

Thank you very much Fsansir! It's always great to receive this good feedback about my AAR.
