Hi all, I just DL'd and installed the game + 1880 expansion. Are there any threads on THIS SITE (been to Paradax ) or downloadable stratigy guides on these forums.

at the risk of rampant self-promotion, check out my Sardinia/Italy AAR (link in my signature) which was written as a beginners guide to the early years.

Other than that, ask, someone will try and give you an answer. Its an utterly engaging, deep, game, well worth the learning curve.

I will second Loki's assessment. His is the best AAR for knowing what to do with the game.

There are several of us around that will attempt to answer your questions with our combined observations. So ask away, and we will do our best to answer you.

The revised downloadable version of the manual (1.02 rev Nov 24) has a strategy guide that starts on page 160.
