This is puzzling. I got 2 percent inflation in three turns, without any message in the log. I have been very careful to always have enough money left over to pay the next turns expenses, without relying on money that will be raised on the next turn.

I do, however, have over twenty thousand in government funds. While there is nothing in the manual about that being a cause of inflation, I am wondering if that has something to do with it.

Does anyone know if this is a bug, or WAD?

Have you been converting gold/gems into state funds? This can cause inflation.

No, I have not converted any gold or gems for the entire game, just for that reason. I checked, and none has been converted.
