PON 1.02 Patch release candidate (public beta 1.01 serie Q, updated Nov 05)

Dear all,

Here is public beta patch Q. Baring major/severe issues, it will be made official, so that many Steam users can update their game.


STEAM users can patch PON using this setup. You'll have either to make a separate copy of PON and apply the patch there, or be sure to not have Steam 'update' your game, as this would revert it to the last official version, which is 1.01

FIXES AND NOVELTIES 1.02 RC4 (1.01 Q)

Engine & AI
* Length of war augments chances to have the AI propose or accept a peace, +1% for every 3 turns, up to the current calculated chance.
* Recurring mobilization problem fixed (need 2 turns to correct itself in this new patch though)
* Suez canal problem not completed if enemy fixed.
* Several others bug fixes.
* if you have high militantism or if you see the AIs with too many strikes (same cause), it is generally because of the series of mobilizations. You can reset it to 0 (or another value) with the setting twkMilitancyResetTo = 0 in any .opt file.

Data or Events oriented changes
* A few texts fixed.

FIXES AND NOVELTIES 1.02 RC3 (1.01 P)

Engine & AI
* If a colonial mansion is lost (burned by native etc.) it will be recreated sooner or later for free.
* If a region within a protectorate/colony don’t have enough CP to switch status, it will gain +1 CP a turn.
* If a tribal owns a city in a region with protectorate+ status, it will relinquish it.

Data or Events oriented changes
* Some fixes on treaties.
* Austrian Constitution event fixed.
* Coal will be sold more easily by AI.
* Removed coal consumption from coal producing structures.
* Updated AI stockpile, maintenance and usability parameters for some merchandises.
* Increased build time for all structures.
* Increased capital required to build all economical structures
* Fixed some problems on faction modifiers granted by the land techs.
* Moved around transactions to capital trade areas for all majors.

All of the patches for PON are on the Paradox forums (where you have to have the game registered in order to be able to download them).

Additional information:

you need to register to get the BETA patches.

if all goes its normal way, one day the official patch will be sticky and public at the Paradox page and the link the (disc based) game gives you for updates will be sufficient.

for Steam, Devs have announced to rush this patch into service, if no extraordinary situation happens

(its a just in case information, you know some people still claim 1.01 would not exists and AGEOD would be the root of all evil)

One thing I've noticed: the tutorials seem to have some errors. Perhaps this is due to changes in the game mechanics. v1.02 should update these as well.

- where the say that the prestige gauge needle is in the right (it's totally on the left)
- where they say to look in the asset screen for the iron quantity

Small things of course, nobody gets lost or anything. :sherlock:

well, i recall there will be an updated manual about simultaneously too...

hope it includes at least one screenshot ;)

the rest underlies time restrictions i fear... we have to remember that PON is not their single project and start to give them space to breath after 1.02 :indien:

Can't wait to hear what they are/will be working on after PoN.
PoN expansions, or a whole new project? Hmmm.

Minor bug I have found. When you click on Rome, the yellow icon to go straight to diplomacy with the Papacy, instead of speaking to the Pope you get to speak with the Two Sicilies.

dear Kensai,if this is true then it is a relevant bug, but a minor one...

I want to know which patch version you are playing thus I can see if I got the same result...
