Turn Excess Capital into Prestige through Culture

I have an idea that I hope will improve this game: As a player I've been frustrated that my sucessful economy has been penalized, sometimes I think punitively, by "New Business Emergence", which is the decay factor for Capital. Yet I struggle in sometimes contorted ways to gain the true game currency, which is Prestige Points (PP). Why not make the game true to the history of the time, when capitalists with excess profits on their hands erected cultural monuments to themselves, with the expectation that new theatres, opera houses, hospitals, public parks, churches, orchestras, art museums, libraries, stock exchanges, monuments, cultural societies and the like would add lustre to the nation as well? In other words, don't just throw away those hard-earned pounds, let us create such things for fun, and reward both the players and AI-controlled countries with prestige. I don't really think that it would be very difficult to write the code for this, and it would make the game more rewarding.

Nice one. Sir Garnet proposed something close to that too. We are considering it!

prestige is the last of my problems XD actually I'm struggling to not each the game limit and end the game too soon lol

Sorry, I guess I missed Garnet's post. It's reassuring to know that younger and better minds are ahead of me on this issue. :)

I'd like to respond in a fresh thread since Yellow Ribbon has good arguments why this should NOT be about translating capital to prestige.
