austria as a colonial power?

Iwant to start a game as austria but i realy like to get some colonies even if i dont get prestige (i know how to remove soi penalties) but i know i need to become a'world wide"power is that possible via becoming stong and so on if not is there any force event or so that ican use? :confused:

I'd suggest going after Morocco and other North West African areas - I quickly became the leading colonial power in most provinces - France will probably become a problem though (sooner or later) - it was much easier make an impact there than in the other areas such as Tunisia.

Thanks for the tip but my problem is Austria had not all of the colonial options needed cause it is not a global power

I think that is one of the biggest problems of the game. Because of history (made by the designer) you can't get the techs you need for colonizing for a long time.

Some nations simply are less fun. They earn enough or much money but could not spend it in colonization. It is a colonization game indeed but you can't go this way as Austria or Prussia or Japan. The only way is to change some files. Pity, because I don't like to change game files as a user. But I should make it either.

How should I change those files for austria

There is a instruction to copy the abilities from GB or France to Austria. Watch here.

Maybe you make a copy of the whole folder first.

You have to register the game as well as register on the forums.
Go to the mygames tab at the top, find PON, and enter your serial code.

I have found that out and using it since 1960 ... working, but it costs a fortune to establish a real colony and there are still a lot of annoying bugs in that part , but it works ...
I am now in 1970 and have established an Austrian stronghold in and around LAGOS ...

You have to copy into the
