After waiting over six (6) minutes for first turn resolution of GB - without result - I must, unfortunately, give up. I shall await official patch when Paradox pull their finger out

The game deal with only one core on my computer. I can't believe that.
market such a product should be banned.
Your problem is due to a slow access to your hdd or too few RAM, not your processor.

Hmmm, your system is much better than mine and my turn intervals last about 1.5 minutes.

Are you certain that there are no other programmes running in the background which would slow the game down? Like Firefox or an anti-virus? I have an i3 2.27Gh, with only 4 GB of RAM and my turns are never close to 6 minutes. I have never clocked them and they take a "while" but still, never this long. Also, have you given the AI extra time?

1st post a product Flame post?
When you can design a program as complex as PON, come back and offer your banning advice.

Same here. My turns run about 2 to 3 minutes at most. His system is better than mine also.

I understood that he was talking about the computer, not the program (although I may be wrong)

He was not referring to the computer. He was referring to the fact that the game only "deals" with one core on "his" computer as it admitedly does on everyone's computer. By itself that was a valid statement/complaint and could have been answered with the technical explanation of why it wasn't supported on more than one core yet.
However, his follow up remark that such a "product" should be banned, was a repugnant "Flaming" remark disparaging the efforts of all those who put years of work into it, in particular the programmer/developers. It was reported as such to the forum administrators.

Thank you for suggestions.
I have 4GB RAM and, as stated, have no problem with running a rail simmulation which is very graphical intensive.
Will try turning my internet security off - after disconnecting from net
Many thanks to all those replying here.

No flame wars allowed here.
ess1, please contact us by email at
support@ageod.net with information on what version of the game you are running (patched or not), where you bought it, if your AV program runs at the same time as the game ...so that we can see if there are issues that could explain the problem
