Greetings.
A game as japan beta patch f. I just declare war on okinawa (Ryukyu). But my war junk naval squadron and onboard expeditionary corps cannot enter the okinawa territory.
I have the error message : "The region cannot be entered, at least one unit cannot enter etc etc...".
But, the naval squadron alone cannot enter the province of Ryukyu either.
Anyone know what is the problem ? I though it was perhaps because japan is a "closed uncivilized" country, but i have no info anywhere and the error message is not very helpfull. (And the game let me declare war, so...).
Thanks for your help.

You don't enter the Ryukyu region itself. You park your war junk in a sea region next to Ryukyu and then unload your ground troops for the invasion.

That is you have to choices. Unload via the special order button of your fleet, this means during your naval unit's movement (you could plot and order for the fleet to sail to Okinawa unload troops and then sail back to port empty). Or wait one turn and unload manually (that way you can chose which units to unload, you might have some forces on the ships you don't wish to expose to the initial landing risks, you could also at that point split your fleet in two or more and land separate groups of land units with different orders (makes only little sense in this particular case of an island, but in other situations you could have one force assault the enemy fortifications/city, another move inland while a third will just land and remain in offensive stance to cover the assaulting troops etc.)...

I just had another problem :
- After long time military occupation of okinawa, i get enough victory point to ask for the region of okinawa. I so send the peace offer.
- The peace offer is correct, i confirmed it in the diplomatie screen. (Offer peace, ryiku will cede okinawa).
(I reloaded a previous save to be sûre first time i though i did something wrong in the peace demand, but no. My demand is ok).
Results :
- Ryuku accept my peace offer.
- I DO NOT GET okinawa. The region is now in full ryuku control
- Now i'am at peace with ryuku....
- My occupations troops have been dislodged and returned to japan.
- My citizens are upset of this event....
This game began to be really disappointing.... hum.......

This seems to be a bug with peace negotiations. It kind of put the kibosh on my game too. I am thinking I will never declare peace. Is there a down side to that?

Stelteck, I had the same problem. Was never able to get Oki from the Ryukyuans.
I noticed a WS 250 in the line to get Oki from them, so I am assuming that is the WarScore you need to demand, and get that item. Now how you raise warscore I have no idea.

You just wait enough time, 6-8 turns maybe, and your warscore will rise if you occupy their country/capital. The problem is, even when you reach the proper WS, have a claim, and the peacy treaty reads "cede province", it just doesn't happen.
Instead:
1. Peace occurs
2. The province is returned
3. Your troops are thrown out
4. All buildings and improvements you made are lost to Okinawa
5. You beat your head into the keyboard

I posted about this on the Paradox forums.
I found that same thing happened in a S-P game trying to annex Tuscany.
They accept the peace deal giving up their one province. They get peace, and they get their province back as if nothing happened.
I'm guessing it's a problem with peace deals that give up the last province of a country. I'm hoping it gets fixed soon or there's a work around posted. If not, it making Italy impossible to unify by force. It makes Prussia a pain as well.
Plus it's just highly frustrating.
