Depots + other questions

Ok. What is the difference between the depots you build with a force/column/army and the depot you build through the economic interface?

I like the economic one because you actually can SEE it. I'm pretty sure when I have built one with an army, I couldn't see it and it wouldn't tell me in the tooltip, unless I'm doing something wrong.

The economic one - I built an upgrade to one and it is pulling supply very nicely! One year in and figured out I could build one in the Econ mode. I like it better.

Additionally, U.S. play - When do you think the Cherokees should have been subdued? I am starting 1851 and I have not stamped them out. I'm close but not yet to the point of actually doing it.

Also, money. HOW DO YOU MAKE MORE MONEY!! I wish I knew because I'm always broke!

Last question. I have blue lines on this screenshot. They kind of look like movement lines, but I am pretty sure I don't have anything moving to this area. Actually, I'm positive I do not.

Thank you.

Actually, the one to the port is actually a movement for a fleet. The other than strikes out across the desert. No clue.

Those are fleet move plot lines. Click on the little redoubt icon at the end of the plot line above your infantry unit in SF and it'll select the unit. You'll have to scroll the map to the other one along its route to find the end plot point, but it too is a naval move plot line.

Countries and businessmen in need of money asked for (international) loans. How do Loans work in game ???

(I have already asked this, but it was lost... :) )

Loans are not in the game currently.

Will they be ?

I think they are a fundamental part of a 19 century simulation...

(example: Portugal's surge of development - the so called "Fontismo", was only possible through heavy loans, mainly from English banks. The huge debt was the reason for the 1891 Portuguese state bankruptcy and default, one of the crisis that eventually led to the end of monarchy...
It's curious how history repeats itself...:wacko :)

One has the little redoubt. I know what fleet that is. The other has no redoubt at the end of the line. As I pan across the Western US, it disappears.

which type of money?...

for the capital funds one way is to sell more to your people by increasing the percentage sold to your people... it will also increase a little the state money... but not enough except if you rise also the taxes

I don't think there is any difference between the 2 types of Depots.

The best way to make money is to sell goods to either your citizens on the national Market or to other countries through the trade menus. Taxes don't seem to get you very much money, at least early in the game.
