PON runs fine for me on a netbook.

Just thought I'd report that PON runs fine on my netbook. It has a small CPU, which I was worried might not be up to the task, but I get through turns OK. It's not what I would call quick, but not unplayable by any means.

I've got a Samsung NC20 which has a 12-inch screen. I bought this type of netbook to have a display area suited to AGEOD games. It runs all their other games perfectly well, and I was pleasantly surprised to see PON fire up. I look forward to playing PON on my next long flight to the US from AUS.

Will they please hurry up and invent the transporter already? :D

Glad to hear it.

How long does your computer compute between turn for example ?

How do you stand playing on such a small screen?

I don't get that many people have it taking a long time to process a turn. It processes fairly quickly on my computer. If you have an older computer, and there's nothing wrong with that, then it will probably take a little longer.

I've tried the game on three machines so far and I've found it runs best on XP. When I changed the compatability mode to XP on my Windows 7 machines I noticed an improvement. What helped even more was to go in the program directory, making certain that both the launcher and PON .exe files were set to XP compatability mode, and then changing the setting to fullscreen using the AGESettings.exe program. The performance is markedly improved on Windows 7. Something to try anyway; good luck!

Takes about 45 seconds, but I can see where it might get worse. It definitely isn't "fast".

45 s of processing time is very fast, consider yourself lucky... Given the amount of computing, anything under 1 mn is fast. Did I said that, even if I really like Civ4, the fact that big games demand 10+ mn to process is frustrating?

(yes I really like big games of the FFH mod)

Yes 45s is very good, you are lucky.

I'm also running XP and turns are taking 1-2 minutes.

They are starting to take long, but right at 1 minute.
