DLC plans ?

I think it would be good if the Phils would tell us their plans for eventual DLCs for PoN.

Specifically, I believe one logical DLC would be the addition of more playable minors. If this is planned, it would make more sense to engage the community directly with the devs in doing this project, instead of it being only a modders effort. I would certainly help in making my own country (Portugal) playable in such a DLC.

Making more playable nations would involve mostly the elements of events, historical portraits and unit pictures. Sounds ideal for DLC, since this ensures no DLC will depend on another.

I'd find it more exciting then scenarios, for sure.

Plans for DLC are definitely in now, and I am not allowed to tell...yet :D

What we plan to do hower is to bring new 'minor' nations as playable for free with each patch...may be 2 at a time (which allows us to include some fun things for the added nations too :) )

Awesome

More nations getting filled out, can't complain at all.

I'd like to eventually see the engine covering the 18th century, too. Next sequel? :D

I hope you add Wallachia - right now my Romanian GF is saying "boring" everytime I open the game :)

Probably because it is summer and you should be out tanning yourself instead ;) .

This game just wont appeal to everyone.

Anyhow. DLC should be all about improving the base game, not adding fantasy scenarios with no historical bearing. I would like to see more short/medium sized campaign scenarios.

I have never bought DLC before, from anyone. But I will buy all the DLC you sell for this magnificent game!

Seriously, though, I would like to see scenario with other "modules" than just the military module. It would work quite well for the nation-building of the Balkanic states post 1878, for Russia 1905-1914, and a few other I suppose.

Hello i would certainly look forward to playing Bismarck's campaigns in the future. Dont forget the Italian front with his campaign against Austria in 1866!!

Not necessarily. For a Balkanic scenario, you would just have the Balkanic States, plus A-H, Russia, OE and maybe Italy. The 4 Powers being not playable.

If lobbying is allowed about the nations to develop to make them playable, my bet goes for Spain (ehem) and Ottoman Empire.

Of course, after 20€ for the game... who could say no to DLC?

I hope at first the game will make sufficient money to continue and it will be worthwhile to add some minor nations with patches.

Regarding the colonial/influence map mode I have an impression there should be some better tune for colonial/influence relationship for Ottomans/balkans Russia and Austria triangle. Historically balkans were under the influence of Russia/Austria and by a very small margin Ottoman. All these actions with some possibilities for annexations. If the game simulates influence/power struggle in the balkans it will be worthwile to play with Ottomans, only if other great powers doesnt interfere this influence. Historically there were no other Great powers other than Austria/Russia and OE( before) had the influence or need to. I think this change should be in the grand campaign not scenarious.

I have read writings of McNaughton(Researcher?) mentioning it wont be worthwhile to play unorganised nations or no point them adding to playable nations list. if that's the case I give my vote to Montenegro. Pros: moderate-good military power/secular. all kind of fortune waiting and Not only it is playable in the 1850 start but have a minor-organized trait.

That's fantastic news. If you tried charging for playable minors, you'd be sure to get a lot of angry complaints ;) I second the notion of later GC start dates, and a Balkan Wars 1912-13 scenario would be awesome.
