I notice that in 1914 the recon mission success rate of my planes is really high. In my last 5 games i had nearly a success rate of over 90%. And i don´t research any aerial technologies so far. Do other players have similar experiences?

I seems that the mission always succeeds if your planes aren't intercepted and beaten. But without the proper technology that recon doesn't bring you any useful information

there was nobody shooting at them in 1914.

Or most probably the failure messages are not reported...

I am getting quite a few recon failure messages in 1914 under army-by-army mode.

So you see the failure messages?

I don't think its too high, I may have a 50-60% success rate in my present game.

I have see 2 failure messages in my last game. ( I am in early 1915 now) During 1914 i plan 5 recon missions every turn (3 x Germany, 1 x AH & 1 x Turkey) and in the majority of cases all of them succeeds. But if success doesn´t automaticly mean that you get useful informations maybe i reading something wrong.

Thats wierd, because they used to always succeed. Now it's about 60% success rate. I get both success, and failure messages. 106a

Indeed there was a bug that made them too easy! Fixed. Next patch.

I've got the opposite result in 1.06d. I've missed each aerian mission, recon, tactical or strategic bombardement, and have never met any opposant in the air. The air tech was maximum in each domain (radio, photo, aerodinamism and vickers...) and I launched mission from different part of the battlefield at any season.

Agreed, under 106e I have not had one recon succeed. Not one. Maybe it was adjusted a bit too far the other way.

Though I have had air to air engagements. The recon always fails.

Ok, played again last night for at least 4 hours, maybe a year or more in game time. Doing air recons with english, french and italian planes, and not one successful attempt was reported. They failed every time.

I can confirm that. They now seem to fail every time. No matter what mission is selected, recon, air support or bombardment, the test always fails...at least for the player.

Even when attacked and one wins the battle and still has some undamaged planes left it still fails....I know they get a -1 penalty for having been involved in an air combat but....yeh...what about the other modifers that ought to help make it happen?

I fixed some bugs that made the air recons (but also the tactical support and strategic bombings) fail every check.
