Officially furious at ctd

This game used to work fine before I uninstalled it, but on grand campaign during the first turn of real battles across the map it freezes at some point, every single time.
Turned off uac, desktop composition, picked the right options in configurator, and I tried to run it in compatibility mode for xp sp2 but it crashes on startup in that case and doesn't even get to game menu screen.
I tried to reinstall and deleted old folder so it would be a fresh install but NOTHING MAKES IT WORK

It used to work just fine only occasionally and it works fine in 1915 but I DONT want it to be a 1915 scenario bc it starts far too late, in May!
So idk what it is but when all the armies actually start moving and I'm going through all the combats it crashes.
