Why can´t I change the security level in the confgurator from 3 (Slow) to 2? It´s greyed out for me but other people managed to change it. How? Thanks.

I can't change the security level either but I wonder if that has something to do with the Gold version? The other thing you (and I) could try is running the Configurator as an administrator.

You can change what is in the security level box by going into the WW1.ini file and changing the value of the GameStabilitySecurityLevel. It'll still be grayed out, but presumably the change of value changes something.

Calvinus has stated that this was a "feature" of the old versions of the game (back then we could change it, it had something to do with stability vs speed, IIRC - similar to Great Invasions) and that now, in the post-gold versions of WW1, it is something we should not bother with...

I would tend to advice to leave it alone...

Regards

it worked!

O YES!!! I got the game to run like it has to, no more jerky and jumpy mouse!!! I just had to put the computer on max power (my wife had changed it to "quiet office" without telling me and now I don´t even need to turn UAC off to play!! :-)

this is one piece of a game!

My laptop (asus - win7 64bits, Intel corei7) is always at 100% performance if connected to the socket and I had always mouse lag (only solved in single core mode)...
