Strange Problems

Having just installed WWI, I am unable to play the game. The intro movie works correctly, but afterwards all I can see are the words "initializing game" then a main menu with a black background, no music and most importantly buttons that light up when scrolled over, but do not respond when clicked on. Any help?

Most frequent issue on that matter is related to O/S used and whether the UAC was on when you installed the game. It happens mostly for vista and Win7 users. Can you double-check this?

I do use Vista 64, but UAC was off.

Also, being logges with PC administrator priviledges is required. I don't know Vista 64: is there any XP (32-bit) compatibility tool?

Ok, I've been playing on another computer with XP with no problems but now I just tried the game on the one with vista in XP SP2 compatibility but still no progress.

Can you try the 1.08H in single-CPU mode? Maybe this is the point.
Also, under Vista the UAC must be off, don't forget it.

Already posted in 2-3 other threads:

Start Menu of Windows > World War One Gold > World War One (single-CPU mode)

So apperently my hard drive was bad, so after a replacment, WWI works just fine!
