Pre-Order Activation Patch

If you re-install, do you still (if you purchased by pre-order, pre-release) need the activation patch ?? Or do the later patches contain the activation ??
I would suggest you install the game in full (pre-order + activation + latest patch) and, when you don't want it anymore on the HD, burn a CD copy or zip it...would save you much time on next reinstall
