Message says it is an invalid file and power archiver can't read it.
I already had 1-17 on my desktop and was just updating to 1-20. What gives? Now I have deleated what I had.

Mine unzipped OK.

I have no problems either. Downloaded it just a minute ago to test it.

Yes I got the same error message. The download was real slow @ 35kb/sec. When finished the message pops up. I was asking only to open the manual file. I use Power Archiver and have for years. As I said I had downloaded the manual through chap. 17 a few days ago. What could it be?

Thanks I have it on my desk top now. I hope you post the whole file there when the manual is complete. BTW to be sure my archiver was working, I downloaded a combat mission scenario and it worked perfectly. I don't know.

If you have such a bad connection to our server, broken downloads may occur. A download manager will help in these cases.
Once the manual finished it will be surely available at Matrix too, maybe you have less trouble connecting to their servers.

Also, there are occasionally greater difficulties downloading to North America from some of the ftp sites used by AGEOD. Usually it is only seen as slow speed, but I have on occasion had disconnects and corrupted files. AFAIK, no fix has yet been found....

Persistance pays! Eventually, I always get the files OK...

Primasprit, hate to ask but, will you be uploading the latest Manual file to this website again? My problem is that it gets downloaded to me so slow that the file does in fact become corupted. This site you suggested worked for me last time and I would like to update to the latest additions. Thanks.

Norbert:

I finally was able to download on your alternate. Thanks. I never have any trouble with the patches. Strange.

By the way, this is a MANUAL. I am one of the freaks who actually reads and enjoys game manuals. The office printer will get a workout on this one.

This is not (YET) the one with a printable quality. It's a low-res PDF. The printable one (US A4 format) should be ready in a few days, so I would advise you wait before printing 200+ color pages ;)

Forgive my ignorance, but is "US A4" format the same as "letter"? Is it any different than "European A4"?

The US A4 is, I think, like this letter format we can see in MS-Word...but for what I know, it is first and formeost smaller than the European A4 format :)

OK, good to know :)

Well A4 should be the same everywhere, but the north american format A is the same as letter wthich is 216 mm x 279 mm whilst A4 is 210 mm x 297 mm. :)

Caution to North Americans:

Printers [at least in USA] usually default to 'letter', which is NOT A4.

Be prepared for some skewing or shrinkage of the PDF document, but it should be OK.

If you ever get A4 in Word format and try to use default 'letter', pagination gets really wonky.....
