As probably the only person who plays this game, and even then only occasionally, I've fired it up for a couple of short scenarios.

There is an AAR by someone on the Matrix site which covers the Moltke plan of Russia first which is unusual and which caught my eye.

I've also played the Paradox game Victoria as Italy in 1914 and kept out of the war.

Nothing like a bit of 20:20 hindsight to avoid the horrors.

I've also been re-reading Robert Graves's book Goodbye to All That - which I recommend to any of you who haven't already done so. It is one of the classic books about the period and is very well written.

You're not the only person still playing the game. I play it once in a while. It's still plays a good game of World War One.

I am currently reading "Russia's Last Gasp: The Eastern Front 1916-17" which is the third book in Prit Buttar's series on the Eastern Front. I highly recommend this series which goes into great detail about the major battles and units involved.
