I'm thinking of buying game from AGEOD, it's between AJE and this. I'd rather play WW1, but not if it's a buggy, incompatible mess. Anyone tried it on Windows 8 and with quad-core? What should I be aware of and will I need to download patches/programs to get it working?

It runs very well on Windows 8--in my case, better than with previous Windows. I made the big switch in December to 8--WW1 was one of the games that kept on ticking.

Regarding the 4 core CPU--I can't say. I am still using an Athlon 64x2 5200 (the oldest part of my pc).
