I don't know if this is a bug or WAD and I'm not understanding something:

I detached a corps from an army. Instead of appearing on the map as a detachment of that corps, it appears as an unattached corps. When I go to the unit management tab, I can't assign it to its original home army or any other army. The corps in question is a fortress garrision, but it was happily part of an army until its separation. Is there some reason why I can't have it join an army after separating it off.

This happened with the Thorn garrison in II Army and also the Koenigsburg garrison that I detached from the GHQ and was unable to reattach to any of the nearby armies.

This a well documented issue. Sometimes it can be resolved with very careful mousework by one of the several routes available, and sometimes it isn't.

Yes, try with drag & drop with the right mouse key pressed. I recall I did something to make it work also in the Manage Forces window. I will double check this later tonight.

Check also if there is some red coloured error message when you try unsuccessfully to assign the detachment to its army, such as "max corps per army" issue...
