Hi - I'd like to play a campaign game by email. Email me interested, Jeff

You mean WWI Gold?

I'd love to give a PBEM a go but cannot see how it is feasible with the way the game is set-up.

It seems that to start up a multiplayer game you must be all 'live' and internet connected, otherwise the AI takes the place of absent (or drop-out) players and there's no over-ride to 're-humanise' an AI player.

The best I could think of would be a co-operative game using the 2-player Campaign. Perhaps one could play Russia (and Italy if she comes in on the Allied side) and the other could play France and Britain, each saving after they've moved their countries armies and then forwarding the turn. Same could be done for the Central Powers.

Unfortunately unless this was against human opponets though (i.e. using the four player mode) I don't really see the point.

It's a great shame as I cannot see many players being able to invest the time or being willing to tie themselves to several 'live' sessions on-line for anything like the period of time needed to undertake the Campaign.

It's a real shame. :bonk:

Agreed, it's a big concern of mine with WWI as well.

Wow - I had no idea you couldn't just play by email as with RUS and ACW (I'm new to these games). So the only way to play against a person (I prefer 2 player, CP/AP) is to play live? You can't save your "ord" file and then send it to the other guy?

No PBEM capability, sorry. Only multiplayer on LAN TCP/IP. There's too much player interaction (reactions, interceptions, battles) for a PBEM...
