Austia-Hungary Strategy

This may have been discussed elsewhere, but I was wondering what players do as AH. I tend to focus on knocking out Serbia, which is a pretty tough nut to crack, and just sit on defense against Italy and Russia. Russia seems to have WAY more units than I do no matter what warplan they use. I can normally hold on to my key cities by putting my armies on them and keeping them concentrated, but this allows Russians to sweep around them and take all the smaller cities. So, any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions as to what to do as AH? Just so no one gets me wrong I'm not complaining, as AH was pretty marginal in the war, and had a hard time taking on anybody without German help, so I'm not saying they are underpowered or anything.

It depends on the war-plan I decide to go for with Germany as well as the ones chosen by the Entente, but most of the time I prefer to focus on Russia with AH while Germany focuses its attention on the Western front.
Serbia is, like you said, quite a tough nut to crack at first and I found that usually I am better off by limiting myself to defending against their attacks and only attacking when they have been sufficiently weakened(from a failed attack for example) or later on, when I can afford to sent more reinforcements to the Serbian front.
In my experience, having additional troops against Russia really helps in holding them back and often allows for a limited advance during the first few turns, before the Russians get additional reinforcements to the Austrian sector.
