"Go to next battle" freeze in 1.08i

I was playing my grand campaign (as central powers), September 1914 military phase. After a battle in the Vosges, that I won, I am unable to continue playing because the "Go to next battle" button is not activated. In fact, no other button is activated, except for the chat window button, the "AI" button (brains) and the battle log. Esc key or exit button also did not work.
I was playing in 1.08i, a campaign started in my desktop, now progressing (...) in my laptop, in which I am playing in single core mode (Win7 64 bits). Other facts that may be relevant are:
- I did not notice
that I was fighting a large battle and lost my right flank during the battle (I only noticed in the end, after it froze)
- The French fled the battle in the end.
- I did not select any breakthrough.
After a few alt-tabs, WW1 stopped responding altogether. Before stopping, it was using around 1% of CPU and around 1,2 Gig of RAM memory.
I attach two pics of the end battle.
I can provide a save game, but it is from the beginning of September (Events), before any of the multiple political and diplomatic actions, Turkey joining the war, reinforcements, redeployments and move planning (that were all lost...
