Good evening
i'm playing entente grande campagne 2 players with the demo 1.08f
i've got a few questions about war plans and the events drawn
i choose for france plan XVII + good moral + volunteers
so i have VN 35 (+8/+2) + 5 VN (+2/0) + (-3/0)
and VN 40 (+7/+2) that's OK with the game
for russia plan grand duc + good moral + volunteers
so i have VN 35 (+5/+1) + 5 VN (+2/0) + (-2/0)
for volunteers on the plan grand duc schedule says -2/0 becomes later -3/0 why?
so VN 40 (+4/+1) but the game says VN 40 (+10/+2) why?
Astria chose plan prinz russia VN + 2with ultimatum to serbia Russia VN +2 (+3/+1) and deutschland chose plan kronprinz and options with no effect on the entente.
if i don't make a mistacke i have for russia VN 44 (40 + 4 converted events drawn) and +7/+2 right?
in conclusion events drawn 18 kept 4 but the game tells me 16/4.
i'm wrong and i don't understand nothing?
thanks

In theory you was to draw 18 events, but the number of remaining event cards in the deck was 16. I suppose this is the reason.

and how is it possible?

Also your opponent draws cards from the deck.

is it "normal"?

Every player draws from the same card deck.

So what, there are only 30 cards in the deck or something?

No, the stratagem cards are 51. I remember this question arised for WW1 1.0 and I debugged carefully the card draw procedure, realising there was some "legal" reason why the number of draw cards dropped in similar cases. But I do not recall what reason exactly... Too much time ago!

By taking some warplans and options, other players draw more cards as well which can deplete the deck.

By the way, I never get it... What does the second number mean (the 2 in +7/+2)? It means that you will draw 7 more cards, and that you will be able to keep 2 more than normally, is that right?

The first number: how many cards you draw.
The second number: how many cards you can keep in your hand (among those drawn, obviously!

)

No, I should debug it again...
And I will do it.

Ok I debugged again the events draw procedure and I found back the reason...
Each event has a difficulty check (die roll >= difficulty value [0-6]).
So, whenever an event card is drawn, the die is immediately rolled.
This is the reason why you sometimes get a lower number of events draw.

good morning
i didn't understand in this way due to the manuel's instructions p161 section27 :
"So each event is either public (historical event) or secret (stratagem). At the
beginning of the game, all of the event cards are placed in a deck. Each
player takes 1 to 3 events each turn, depending on the Season. During the
very first turn of 1914, the number of drawn and kept events depend
instead on the combination of war plans and options selected by all major
nations."
for me, it was clear that only war plans and options have an effect.

Well, I found a couple of glitches in events draw procedure following the war-plans adoption. You'll find the new corrections in the next patch. Thanks.

This does not refer to warplans events.
These are the events drawn each turn after August 1914.

good morning
it's an happy news what you fixed this abnor'mality
thank you
the beginning of the game will be correct
i look a save game and AI seems to play first and not drawns events but keeps one or two events without rapport to the number of events drawn and keep as warplan and options.
is it possible to know why sometimes AI only chooses one warplanoption?
thank you again
PS : i'm trying the demo version and i'll buy the game at the end of the trial period.
the way to buy the game is as complicate as the game itself.

You can enable the "AI Logs" option (Configure Game tool).
Then examine the Logs\Nations.html file created by the game during the WarPlans phase.
Beware that this option can be detected by the Antivirus as a threat (generation of html files is considered as a virus activity by some AVs), so that the AV makes the game crash!
Anyway, looking the html file you can watch what AI "thinks"...

When the demo trial period expires, in theory you have simply to "buy the serial key". No need to download and install a new game. Simply buy the serial key and type it in the appropriate field inside the Configure Game tool.

Ok, so once the demo trial expires, buy the Gold kit and use the serial key that you receinve. Then I guess there's no need to download the kit.
