Reinforcing the Colonies

Hi, first post here. Bought WW1-LGG a couple of days ago and am hugely impressed the attention to details and overall authenticity of the game. My very first wargames were Avalon Hill's 1914 and Jutland and I have studied World War 1 since I was a teen in the 1960's. WW1-LGG has a steep learning curve to be sure but have encountered little that seems counter-intuitive even if finding the sweet-spots for the drag and drop operations gets frustrating at times.

Problem though. Currently the Entente in a 4-Person campaign where winning is less important than learning the system well. However, have encountered a issue where I cannot send Corps to Nigeria to supress a rebellion there. The plan is to send some Regulars and when they are done putting down dissent they will lead clearing the German's out of Africa for good. Having provided escorts and set them for sea movement the red error message text says it's an illegal order due to the destination being enemy. Attempts to send them to Togoland (now French) are also unsuccessful for the same reasons.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not the better guy to answer you, but I'm not sure that military units will suppress any rebellion. It can prevent you from losing many NW points (which are really precious on the long run), but to erase this curse, you'll have to use the political action (click on NW button on the top-left) dedicated to this aim, but I can't remember the proper name now.

Thank you for the response however the intention is to ship the two corps in order to negate the -1 NW penalty imposed every military phase. I have the troops ready to sail but cannot seem to get them there.

The temporary loss of two corps is better than the continual drain of NW as 1915 rolls on. That is the assessment of the CIGS at any rate.

Rebellion are suppressed by political action "Restore Order": each one succesful "Restore Order", one strike or rebellion is crushed.

In Africa only African units can be redeployed, no HQs nor GHQs.

You should be able to garrison Nigeria with two African units (I mean, there should be enough of them) Is this not the case?

Thanks for the replies but so far nobody has answered my original question, all I would like to know is if it is possible to move corps from England to Nigeria using sea movement.

I have successfully conducted sea movement from Britain to the Continent so the mechanics are understood, there are sufficiant naval movement resources to ship the two corps required and a British battle squadron for escort.

Attempts to do so cause red message text in the message window saying that the planned movement is not allowed and is illegal.

This issue has nothing to do with restoring order in a rebellious Nigeria or redeploying existing colonial forces within Africa.

No, you can't bring european troups to Africa.
All you can do to reinforce your troops here is to create african units on the recruitment panel.
