If I purchase WW1 today, will there be a free upgrade to the gold version or will it cost extra money? If extra, any ideas on the cost yet?

Because of the amount of extra work in it, there will be a small charge for the upgrade. Not yet defined for the moment, will know better in February when the upgrade is to be released

No, should not, because as you know, WW1 is developped by an indie, Luca Camisa (a.k.a. Calvinus). He is away on needed Xmas vacation and should resume his work upon his January return.

Unless his IRL work takes too much of his time, he should stick to his Feb 2010 release target.

If I purchase the game today via Gamersgate digital download will it still be possible to get the Gold Edition upgrade? Or should I wait? I downloaded the trial version and loved it and really want to get this game soon. Thanks for any feedback.

There will be a gold version, but at least not before end February or early March at the earliest, as we want to make sure we have time for proper testing.

The cost for upgrading will be small and limited, so considering there is a good promotional offer this week on Gamersgate, please buy it.

Thank you for your quick response. Today is my birthday and I intend to treat myself by buying this great game,lol. Just wanted to make sure the upgrade would work if I bought it via gamersgate. Sometimes their games are not compatible with all patches etc. But like you say, they're offering a great deal this weekend and I'm going to take advantage of it,lol. Thank you guys for making such a great game and all the support you provide the customers.

There should not be any compatiility issue for the upgrade. We are currently discussing with PI/ Gamersgate for the various marketing and technical aspects, but it should work without trouble

Well, I find this game enough stable and playable after 1.06... Any extra work for sure is worth a small fee.
