Reassigning detachments

When reassigning detachments to another HQ the detachment moves to the region where the HQ is located (is transported there immediately). Is this intended?
I just want the detachment to stay in its current region but have a different HQ.

Not understood...
Which phase are you playing??
If you are playing the Redeployment phase, it's normal the stack is put there...
Otherwise, such redeployment is very strange?
Also, why didn't you use the drag and drop with the right mouse key???
So you can change the assignment of stacks (where allowed).

Yes that is what i mean. In the military phase i am dragging and dropping with the right mouse key and the units are moving to the same location as the HQ is. Shouldn't they just stay where they are and reassign to the new HQ?

Mmm... have you tried dropping them over the same area where they are located?

You will see a popup menu somehow like this:
Do nothing
Assign to I Army
Assign to II Army
...
All armies that cannot be a target are not diplayed...
Also, beware of "numbered" corps inside the stack!
They prevent the assignment to different armies.
And remember to:
1) use the right mouse key;
2) drop the stack over the same area where it's currently located.

Yes, provided the "Military Cooperation" political option is in effect.

I've tried re-combining detachments that are in the same area but the pop-up doesn't show the other detachment as an option to move to. unless i missed it somewhere, i would think you could detach a multi-unit group
