Enemies are slipping through my front

I'm in July 1917 and I'm chasing my enemies. OK, no big task because I'm playing with "easy" settings.
But what I miss is building up a closed and stable front.
I guess I often saw enemy units slipping through the areas where armies or detachments of my side were in position. Is it possible that in trench warfare enemy units can move through my frontline?
After I recognized these behavior I choose the intercept rule in the options. Now I saw the little arrow in the oder-section of the army but I cannot activate this oder. The tooltip tells my that this is not selectable in trench warfare.
What am I doing wrong and how can I stalemate enemy armies?

By the way I had 16 event cards after patching to 1.05a. Is this ok?
By the way 2: In 1.04g I could use stosstruppen. After patching I guess it wasn't possible anymore.

No they can't slip through, but you can not intercept during trench warfare.

And yes, you are supposed to have 16 cards slot.

Nothing changed with 1.05A. Probably with 1.05A you have fought a secondary battle, no support units, while with 1.04G you fought a main battle...

They didn't slip through so to speak. But I have had this German army behind my lines for 3 turns now.

Shouldn't they be out of supply or isolated?
They are just sitting there sieging my towns.

Mmmm... probably a bug plus a decoy stack:

- bug: lake is counted as trace route for supplies... wrong!
- decoy stack: II russian army detachment is a decoy

If you post here the zipped savegame, I can investigate, thanks.

Ok, I fixed a couple of bugs in supply checks, plus I added the supply check execution also at the beginning of Reinf./Mil. Phase (before it was only at the end)... ;)

Other improvement: unsupplied stacks cannot benefit anymore of HQ/GHQ reserves.

Next official patch, monday.

With the supply check fixes now it's totally another game!!!!
You will have to be veeeery careful with railroads conversions!!!
Otherwise you will see a lot of armies not simply unsupplied, but even isolated! :mdr:

Supply is one of the things I enjoy about the game. It does effect how you plan your moves. You must think ahead. ;)

Ok save game attached.
I was playing as allies so all russian stacks contained units.

Ok, I will make tests with your savegame too.
I'm already having my strategies entirely changed in my games... ;)

 HipHipHurray! Till now I thought I was doing something wrong because so many of my armies stayed unsupplied or otherwise stayed supplied even if they marched deep in enemy territory without any conversed railroad closed-by.
I looking forward to the next patch!

Is there something on the unit display that shows it as unsupplied?

Yes, beneath the icon on the map and the info panel at the bottom. It's a sign with a white background a little black icon (maybe a can) and a red cross.

I want to repeat my question from the start of the tread.
Yesterday I closed up an french army in the vicinity of cherbourgh (Normandie or Bretagne?:confused :) . There were 3 regions in wich I positioned each 2 detachments and 1 german army. So there was no free way for the french army to the french mainland. I moved forward with all 3 units to occupy the 3 free regions in the vicinity of cherbourgh and to fight the french army.
Meanwhile the french army moved through the german occupied regions to the french mainland. I guess there was no fight and even if a fight happened I don't think that I lost this one.
Besides in the movement resolution phase I saw the german and the french units passing by each other without stopping and fighting.
Finally after the military phase I stood in cherbourgh and the 2 regions south while the french army stood 3(?) regions south of me in the french mainland.

I think you spotted the movement of some decoys, that do not generate battles and cannot take the control of passed area... :bonk:

Thanks again for this fast answer. It seems I anticipated this answer. Therefore I started another thread ;)

So if I'm playing without fog of war (all boxes for fow are unchecked in the options) these stacks can't be decoy stacks, right?

Not exactly, the AI will not generate new decoys.

But it's absolutely not fair to play with the FoW totally disabled........... :grr:
Mainly if the AI does not benefit of the same bonus!

Please don't be so harsh on me. Without a complete manual playing this game it's like reading a famous novel with only one year learning reading. :D
I think I'm producing so much mistakes and wrong decisions that the AI have some advantages so that it's a fair game again. ;)
And besides that it's only a learning game.

I checked my situation in June 1917. I add 2 savegames for everyone who is interested (especially for you calvinus).
I locked up multiple french armies in Saint Lo (no decoy stacks). All 3 regions through wich they could reach the french mainland were blockaded by german armies. These armies moved on north to fight the french.
In July 1917 these french armies stood in Saint Brieuc and Mantes. They must had slipped through my front.
Is it possible that after a lost battle they managed to rally behind my frontlines?

I also noticed strange moves of english armies in Ploermel and Pay de Caux.
