Tutorial

Hello,
This does look like a great game, but I must say that the tuturial is quite bad.
If I read anymore of "unfortunately you cannot perform this action in the tutorial" or "etc., etc." or see any more "!", I might go crazy.
Someone unfamilar with the game engine would not learn a thing through the tutorials. They are badly written and without real substance.
I do think that an extensive pdf tutorial ought to be created and released, to help those new to the game engine to understand the basics of gameplay.

We shall see the most common questions in the coming days, and I am sure the guys here will assemble a F.A.Q.
In the meantime, feel free to ask.
Oh, and dont forget, there are tooltips for almost everything.

Certainly I would.
I went to the next tutorial and this thing is totally incomprehensible, it being very difficult to know what needs to be moved where and whether the tutorial was followed as it should be.
I think it would have been much better to explain all this through a separate document rather than using the in-game text.
I realize that the more I get used to the game the better I will understand what is going on, but this tutorial is awful and near useless.
I wouldn't expect too much as far as sales goes if the demo is released with the current tutorial.
I like the game and what AGEOD does and will always support them, which is why I wanted to comment on the tutorial and how it needs to be approached differently and in a more coherent manner.

There is one thing that would greatly help the tutorial in the game - a smaller text window.
It obstructs the screen too much and makes selecting some units difficult.

Yes, but smaller windows implies scrolling arrows in them, or a rework of the whole sequence so that texts fits in the window (it's even worse in non-English languages)

I understand -perhaps make window 50% smaller and have double number of text windows?
It is not vital for me but since this is the first time many will play game, it could put off some.

How about moving the text window so the first several lines are not obscured by the "Hit Pause Button" graphic? It's annoying to try to read through the overlay.

So far I only played a short time but this i've learned:
You can move the windows by right-clicking and holding the mouse.
The idea of an detailed AAR for learning till the complete manual is ready would be helpful.
I'm really looking forward for diving into the game and it's mechanics.
But for now, it's a question of time and understanding.

Thanks. Wish I'd known that when I was squinting and cursing my way through the Tutorials. You'd think they'd say, "You can move the window by right-clicking." Did they actually play through the tutorials themselves?

I found the tutorial quite helpful actually it was how I learned to play the game. I did have to go through it probably about 4 times regarding the second tutorial but it was well worth it to gain knowledge about the mechaical side of the game.
Couple of tricks such as right clicking and dragging the info window away from the districts you work with and the other is go to options and use NATO symbols instead of the 3d units.
