I must admit that this game looks fun. But since I never played the board game, I'm wandering how the in game tutorial is shaping out?

The tutorial is first and foremost on very basic things about warfare...then try out the 2-3 small scenarios and you'll be ready for larger ones...

Let me take a shot at answering this one. I have the board game and have read, and re-read the rules and scenarios for years dreaming of when I could ever find time to play it.
In the computer form you dont have to remember much of the massive amount of information, it is only the phases of the turn and the once in every three turns the Strategic phase that you need to feel familiar with. This game system is perfect for the computer!
So now it will take just getting comfortable with the turn phses and interturn stategy, as the computer does all the mundane stuff!!!

Just played through the tutorial today, the game takes some getting used too, it's rather unconventional.
The process for comabt and seige operations include things like flanks and reserves and fog of war, so a lot is going on here.

You are right. Probably Chris has access to a press review beta copy or something like this

Yes it is quite important to play at least the Serbia scenario a couple of times after the tutorials, and before diving into the main campaign game. It really ain't that complicated to manage battles and movements, but this IS a translation of a complex boardgame, and it is quicker to get an understanding of the whole thing when you manage one front and a couple of battles per turn, instead of a dozen.
